The Takata Race Soarer Bucket Seat Package combines a Takata Race LE competition bucket seat with Toyota Soarer-specific side mount brackets and a Takata Drift III Snap-On harness. The Soarer here refers to the Z30 generation produced from 1991 to 2000, sold in some export markets as the Lexus SC.
Despite its luxury 2+2 grand tourer origins, the Z30 Soarer has a consistent following in UK drifting and time attack. The 1JZ-GTE turbocharged 2.5-litre variant is the most common platform for modified builds: 275hp from the factory and a straightforward path beyond that on a platform the Japanese domestic market developed extensively. The Soarer was sold new in Japan and arrived in the UK as grey imports, keeping the platform relatively low-volume compared to the Supra and making vehicle-specific brackets a more involved piece of work than for higher-volume Japanese imports.
Vehicle-specific side mount brackets in this package account for the Soarer’s floor geometry, which differs from the more common road car dimension that a universal frame assumes. Both Standard and Excel Width seat options are available.
The Drift III harness in the package is Road and Track approved, not FIA competition legal. Package options: Seat Width (Standard or Excel Width), Sport Seat Position (RHD Driver Side or RHD Passenger Side), Webbing Colour (Black or Green).
